Before you bitch, here are some known issues and fixes:
- Downloads don't get the full track.
- Try updating to the latest version of Firefox and Adobe Flash. This should eliminate most problems. Safari, IE, and Chrome all have some problems with Flash content, but Firefox does not.
- Google Chrome and the Percolator don't jive.
- Chrome is REALLY BUGGY with Flash. I know - this sucks. Firefox is really vastly superior here.
- Song such-and-such won't play.
- The link is dead. At one point it worked, but not now. Sorry, but there's no fix for this one.
- Song will play but not download, or vice-versa.
- Quite possible. A lot of tracks' links contain illegal characters, so the player won't play them, or the download script won't download them. If you find a track such as this, please e-mail me (info@sadsteve.com) the URL of the song of that's acting up. It'll be something like sadsteve.com/preview.py?song=blah&title=blah. I can usually rework the source code to make the link not act up.
- Make an iPhone App!
- For now, not happening. Until the iPhone supports Flash, building an iPhone app will just be super annoying and difficult. Nota bene: Apple has chosen to not run Flash on the iPhone because Flash is a platform itself. If you could create a Flash game and host it on a server for free (www.mysite.com/FlashGame), you'd slash the revenue that Apple mints from the App Store.
- When I share a Sad Steve link on Facebook, the letters encode wrong.
- This is Facebook's fault. They don't adhere to web standards. But, you can edit those fields by clicking them, as shown below.
